Cuore Counselling offers a personalized holistic therapy approach, informed by various evidence-based modalities, integrated in a personal way to best serve you.
Our sessions will be informed by the following modalities:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) focuses on changing negative patterns of thinking and behaviour. It is based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings and behaviours are interconnected, and that by changing our thoughts and behaviours, we can improve our emotional well-being.
CBT is a goal-oriented therapy that has been shown to be effective in treating wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression and more
Emotionally Focused Therapy
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is based on the idea that emotions are the key to understanding and improving relationships. EFT helps individuals to identify and express their emotions, often by identifying patterns of interaction that cause distress, and fostering new, healthier ways of relating.
EFT is grounded in attachment theory, emphasizing the importance of secure attachments in relationships for emotional well-being.
Acceptance and Commitment therapy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps individuals to accept their thoughts and feelings, and commit to making positive changes in their lives. It is based on the idea that trying to avoid or control negative thoughts and emotions can actually make them worse, and that accepting them can lead to greater psychological flexibility and well-being. ACT uses a variety of techniques, including mindfulness, values clarification, and behavioral activation, to help individuals live more meaningful and fulfilling lives.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and reprocessing therapy. It aims to help people to process traumatic memories and experiences.
During EMDR, the therapist guides the client through Bilateral Stimulation, typically through eye movements or tapping, while they recall the traumatic event. This process helps to reduce the emotional intensity of the memory and allows for adaptive processing
